Behind almost every social media app, website, and library database is a database that can be queried. In this hands-on, introductory workshop, we'll work together to investigate a fictional mystery in the library through SQL. SQL is  one of the most widely used database querying languages.

By the end of the workshop, you'll understand the SQL commands for selecting, filtering, analyzing, and combining data from  database tables. This will help you understand how information is organized from the inside and make you a better researcher. By the end of the workshop you'll have new skills to help you find, interpret, and connect information more effectively across databases, library search tools, and even spreadsheets.

Please bring a laptop.
