Many researchers take digital photographs as part of their archival research. Unidentified and unorganized, these images can quickly accumulate on phones and desktops. Managing those personal photograph collections efficiently and effectively is key to maximizing the value of your research. Tropy is a free, open source tool for organizing and describing these collections. In this workshop, we will provide an overview of best practices in taking and managing photographs for archival research and how to organize, describe, and annotate them using Tropy.
